How does a quote get made?

Somebody looks at the property. That is the short version. Square footage on a county record does not tell you whether a gate is thirty inches wide, whether the back slope will take a mower, whether a deck's joists are sound under a soft board, or how far a hose has to run. Recurring work gets a per-property number. Build work — beds, decks, lighting runs, grading — gets a project number after measurements. Fence is figured per linear foot with posts, gates and any tear-out of the old line called out separately so nothing hides inside a lump sum.

What does a service visit look like?

For maintenance visits, the crew mows in the direction that suits the turf that week, edges hard lines along drives and walks, trims where the deck cannot reach, then blows the drive, walk and porch clean. Clippings do not get blown into the street or a storm drain. For project work, the site gets staged so a homeowner can still park and still get to the door, and material gets dropped where it will not kill the grass underneath it for a week.

How does weather change the schedule?

Constantly, and it is honest to say so. A Tuesday route can slide to Wednesday after a summer thunderstorm, because cutting saturated clay leaves ruts and tears the crown out of the grass. Washing gets held when a pollen bloom is actively falling — cleaning siding on a heavy pollen day means cleaning it twice. Post holes and planting get scheduled around ground moisture, since clay that is too wet smears into a sealed wall inside the hole and clay that is too dry has to be chipped. When a visit moves, you hear about it.

What does the year look like?

Cool-season turf does its real growing in spring and fall, so those are the windows for aeration, seeding and bed renovation. Summer is mow-and-manage: heat, humidity, and thinning fescue. Autumn is leaf work, and in the older tree-heavy neighborhoods that stretches over weeks rather than a single cleanup. Winter is the sensible time for fence, deck and lighting projects, because the ground is workable and there is no turf to protect.
